Professional Education Committee

PEC focus on advancing the educational opportunities within the Society and developing our CPD scheme.

Committee Responsibilities

• Progress the development of frameworks and standards for examinations at basic, intermediate and advanced levels.
  
  

• Oversee the operation of the Continuing Professional Development scheme, which includes membership of the scheme, accreditation of courses/meetings, etc., annual audit of the CPD scheme and appeals.
  
  

• Develop occupational standards and distance learning relevant to the membership through its Sub-Committees and the Committees of the Society’s Special Interest Groups.
  
  

• Appoint and oversee the operation of Boards of Examiners, where appropriate.
  
  

• Advise the Council on other professional activities as they arise or at the behest of the Council.
  
  

• Form links and maintain liaison with other professional, regulatory and employing bodies in pursuance of the terms of reference.
