Brief Description: 
This year’s Components session titled “Concentrating on platelets” aims to update the audience on current developments on the production and subsequent storage of platelets in PAS. With the UK BTS recently moving to storage of pooled platelets in additive this is an ideal opportunity to examine the benefits and obstacles of storing in PAS versus that of plasma. Given the area we have chosen and proposed talks for this session, this will make for another interesting and educational SIG.
